Alexandra Sander

Former Research Associate, Technology and National Security Program

Alexandra Sander is a Research Associate with the Technology and National Security Program at the Center for a New American Security (CNAS).

Prior to joining CNAS, Ms. Sander worked in the Research Assistant Programme at the NATO Parliamentary Assembly in Brussels, Belgium. There, she primarily supported the Science and Technology Committee’s research on ballistic missile defense and cybersecurity policy. She also interned with the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) and the Department of State at the U.S. Embassy in Bangkok, Thailand. 

Ms. Sander earned a M.A. in International Security from the Josef Korbel School of International Studies at the University of Denver, where she was a member of the Executive Committee in charge of the school’s annual Crisis Engagement and Negotiation Exercise. Her research focused on defense and technology and Asia-Pacific security. Ms. Sander graduated magna cum laude from California Polytechnic State University San Luis Obispo with a B.A. in Political Science.
