Cecilia Zhou
Development Officer
Cecilia Zhou is the Development Officer at the Center for a New American Security (CNAS), where she works with Senior Vice President for stewardship and donor relations, and maintains the donor database.
She was previously a Joseph S. Nye, Jr. National Security intern with the Asia-Pacific Security Program and worked primarily on the Asia Maritime Strategy project.
Prior to joining CNAS, Ms. Zhou interned at the Department of State in the East Asia and Pacific Bureau, China and Mongolia Desk. There she assisted with bilateral programs including the U.S.-China Security and Economic Dialogue (S&ED) to the U.S.-China Consultation on People-to-People Exchange (CPE). She additionally interned with the House Committee on Foreign Affairs, Subcommittee of Asia and the Pacific under Congressman Steve Chabot.
Ms. Zhou earned a M.A. in Asian Studies from Georgetown University’s Graduate School of Foreign Service. Her research focused mainly on analyzing China’s energy security and the evolving China-Middle East relations. She graduated from UC San Diego with a B.A. in International Studies – Political Science and has also studied at Peking University in China.
