Kaleb Redden serves as Director for Building Global Partnerships at the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD) in its office of Partnership Strategy and Stability Operations. In that role, he is responsible for the direction of DoD initiatives to expand its authorities and resources to build the capacity of partner-nation forces, to improve DoD engagement tools, and to support U.S. capabilities for stabilization missions. Kaleb previously served in the OSD as a Presidential Management Fellow, where he completed assignments across the United States Government, including on the 2006 Quadrennial Defense Review, at the National Security Division of the Office of Management and Budget, with the House Government Reform Committee’s Sub-Committee on National Security, as Country Director for Egypt and North Africa, as a strategist in the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Intelligence, and on the 2005 Base Realignment and Closure process. He has also served as a Herbert Scoville Peace Fellow at the Center for Nonproliferation Studies, where he researched and wrote on financial and political support for the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), domestic preparedness for dirty bomb attack, nuclear terrorism, export control violations to China, missile smuggling, cruise missile defense/proliferation, and U.S. nuclear and conventional strike posture. His work on the IAEA was later cited by the WMD Commission and republished in shortened form in the IAEA’s flagship journal, the IAEA Bulletin.  He holds an M.Phil in International Relations from the University of Cambridge and B.S. degrees in Chemical Engineering, International Studies, and Political Science from North Carolina State University.  He has been awarded the Office of the Secretary of Defense’s Medal for Exceptional Civilian Service, the OSD Special Act Award, and the OSD Award for Excellence.
