Kayvan Chinichian
Associate Director, Individual Giving
Kayvan Chinichian is the Associate Director for Individual Giving at the Center for a New American Security (CNAS). He works closely with the Senior Vice President and the Executive Team to manage the Center’s portfolio of individual supporters. He is also the principal manager of the CNAS Council program.
Prior to joining CNAS, Mr. Chinichian was the Associate Director for Individual Membership at the Atlantic Council. While there, he was the principal in charge of relaunching the Council’s Members Program and fully integrating it into the business development strategy of the organization.
Before joining the Council, Mr. Chinichian served as the Development Operations Officer at the Washington Institute for Near East Policy where he managed and assisted all the day-to-day activities in the Development department. As an officer, he worked closely with regional and national staff to streamline membership, maximize giving, and recruit new opportunities. He also implemented and executed all donor centric programming, including an annual major policy conference, and study tours to the Middle East.
Mr. Chinichian has a Master’s degree from the George Washington University in Middle East Studies, and a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the California Polytechnic State University (Cal Poly) in San Luis Obispo. Mr. Chinichian is a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP), the California State Society, and the Young Professionals in Foreign Policy (YPFP).
