Lieutenant Kristopher Ensley, 28, currently serves as a Coast Guard Fellow to the House Committee on Homeland Security where he provides technical expertise and policy review for Members of Congress.  Prior to this assignment, he served for five years on three different Coast Guard cutters, including two years as the Commanding Officer of the Cutter NARWHAL in Newport Beach, CA.  While onboard NARWHAL, LT Ensley conducted numerous port security, search and rescue, and law enforcement missions, including saving a 100 ton vessel and its crew from hazardous seas more than 165 nautical miles offshore in August 2008 and recovering 9,986 lbs of illegal drugs off a smuggling vessel in November 2008.

From 2006 to 2007, he served as the Executive Officer of the Cutter AQUIDNECK in the Northern Arabian Gulf, providing security for vital Iraqi infrastructure and helping train Iraqi Navy personnel.  LT Ensley graduated with high honors from the US Coast Guard Academy with a degree in Government in May 2004 and is currently an MBA student with Marist College.  LT Ensley is married to the former Ms. Sarah Fox, and they have a rambunctious 15 month old puppy named Blue Moon.
