Maria
Mahler-Haug is a Policy Aide for foreign policy and national security affairs
to Senator Claire McCaskill. In this role she supports the senator’s
responsibilities as Chairwoman of the Senate Armed Services Subcommittee on
Readiness and Management and the Homeland Security and Government Affairs
Subcommitee on Contracting Oversight.
Prior
to joining Senator McCaskill’s staff, Ms. Mahler-Haug worked as a Legislative Assistant
to Representative Albio Sires, who served on the Foreign Affairs Committee.
Raised
in Connecticut, Ms. Mahler-Haug graduated from Brown University with a Bachelor’s in
International Relations with a focus on environmental issues and is currently
pursuing a Masters in International Security Studies from the College of
International Security Affairs at the National Defense University. Ms. Mahler-Haug also
serves as Director of national security programming for the Washington-based
organization, Young Professionals in Foreign Policy.
