Special Assistant to the Principal Deputy Under Secretary of Defense for Policy
Natalie Quillian currently serves as special assistant to the Principal Deputy Under Secretary of Defense for Policy. She works on a range of strategic policy issues, and contributed to the Department’s 2010 Strategic Reviews, including the Nuclear Posture Review, the Ballistic Missile Defense Review, and the Quadrennial Defense Review.
Previously she served as a Presidential Management Fellow in the Office of the Secretary of Defense, completing assignments as a Political Officer in the U.S. Embassy in Kabul; working on cybersecurity in the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Intelligence; helping to standup U.S. Africa Command in the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Policy; and building the Department’s supplemental budget request in the Office of the Secretary of Defense for Comptroller.
Natalie has also served in the U.S. Mission to NATO in Brussels and on the staff of the Nuclear Weapons Council. Natalie received her undergraduate degree in mathematics from Middlebury College, and her master’s degree from Princeton University’s Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs.
