Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump left key foreign-policy issues unresolved in their debate Monday, setting the stage for a future battle over how to address the rise of Russia and China and the more than five-year-long civil war in Syria.

The Democratic and Republican nominees clashed over the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, the Iran nuclear agreement and the war against Islamic State.
