TRADOC’S NEW POWER COUPLE: Here’s a tip for you Army watchers: Keep an eye on the service’s Training and Doctrine Command, which is undergoing a leadership transition right now. Gen. David Perkins has recently taken over as commander and will be joined shortly by newly promoted (for a third star) Maj. Gen. H.R. McMaster, who will serve as his deputy and the director of the Army Capabilities Integration Center.
They are holding their first whiteboard session with a very small group of senior leaders on April 17, an Army source tells Morning D. “What comes out of that session could shape the direction of the Army for the next several years,” he said.
Attending that meeting will be Lt. Gen. Robert Brown, who recently took over for Perkins at the Combined Arms Center at Fort Leavenworth, Kan. Along with Perkins and McMaster, Brown is also viewed as an innovative leader.
