Trump Channels Obama on Iran, North Korea

The White House on Thursday was poised to renew sanctions relief for Iran after a day earlier reacting with cautious optimism to the possibility of eventual talks with North Korea – developments that 18 months ago would have seemed more probable from the presidencies of Barack Obama or Hillary Clinton than Donald Trump.
The administration was expected Friday to announce it will continue sanctions relief for Iran due to its compliance with the Obama-era nuclear deal, known formally as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action. The news came a day after Trump reportedly expressed "openness" to eventual U.S. talks with North Korea over that country's nuclear program.
