Anthony DeMartino and Eric Sayers Join CNAS as Adjunct Senior Fellows
Washington, September 6, 2018 - The Center for a New American Security (CNAS) announced today that Anthony DeMartino, Founding Partner at Pallas Advisors, and Eric Sayers, Vice President of Beacon Global Strategies, have joined CNAS as Adjunct Senior Fellows in the Defense Program. DeMartino and Sayers will offer expert insight on current and emerging defense issues, and conduct research focused on extending U.S. military advantage in the face of evolving security challenges.

Eric and Anthony's comprehensive understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing our military will be invaluable to the continued success of the Center’s Defense Program.”
DeMartino is a Founding Partner at Pallas Advisors, a national security consulting firm located in Washington, D.C. In recent years, he held civilian positions in the Department of Defense including serving as the Deputy Chief of Staff to the Secretary of Defense. Prior to his time at DoD, he served as the managing director and chief operating officer at SBD Advisors, a global strategy and management consulting firm focused on national security policy and innovative technologies. DeMartino is a retired U.S. Army Colonel who served as an infantry officer for 24 years, with combat tours in Afghanistan and Iraq. He is the recipient of five Bronze Stars, and the Department of Defense’s Distinguished Civilian Service Award, which is the highest civilian award given by the Department of Defense.
Sayers is Vice President of Beacon Global Strategies, a strategic advisory firm specializing in international policy and defense sectors. Previously, Sayers was a consultant to the Commander’s Action Group at U.S. Pacific Command (PACOM) where he served as Special Assistant to the Commander. He has worked in several senior capacities on Capitol Hill, including on the professional staff of the Senate Armed Services Committee where he advised the late Senator John S. McCain of Arizona, on Asia-Pacific issues during his tenure as the Committee Chairman. Sayers is a 2013, alumnus of the CNAS Shawn Brimley Next Generation National Security Fellowship and is a current term-member for the Council on Foreign Relations.
